Lotus Mindfulness Centre

Lotus Mindfulness Centre (LMC) is a secular mindfulness initiative founded in Toronto in 2017 by Deepak Kashyap. He has over a decade of experience in the field of Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation, and counselling therapy. He has lived and worked in India, the U.K., Canada and Dubai.

LMC provides mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) to reduce and manage day-to-day stress, anxiety, productivity issues and depressive blues. It works with corporations, groups, individuals, and educational institutes in providing mindfulness-based solutions with the aim of human development

LMC engages in counselling, teaching, and training customized courses in Yoga and Mindfulness. LMC does not function as a suicide prevention support centre. Any health care emergencies should be reported through 911 or any other medical institution. LMC is solely a professional and self-development centre.

Deepak Kashyap

Deepak Kashyap (He/Him) is a counselling therapist and life-skills trainer with an extensive experience in corporate wellness, diversity, and inclusion initiatives. He provides emotional and mental health services in person as well as online for over 10 years. He holds a master’s degree in the Psychology of Education from the University of Bristol, UK.

Deepak has been formally trained in advanced programs in REBT and CBT from the Albert Ellis Institute in New York, and attended the MBCT summer school program at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre at the University of Oxford, England. He has conducted workshops in India, Dubai, the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe and Canada on various emotional wellbeing projects.

Deepak’s expertise lies in developing and delivering programs for organisational mental health initiatives, anti-racism and anti-oppression frameworks, Diversity and Inclusion training and LGBTQ2S+ leadership and rights activism. He has developed and delivered programs like Employee Emotional First-aid, Productivity and Mental Health During the Pandemic, Working From Home: The New Normal, Unconscious Bias, Safe and Respectful Work Environment, Psychological Safety at Work Effective Vs Performative Allyship, Making Workplaces more Welcoming of the Queer Employees Beyond Just the Pride Month, Emotional Skills for Feminism, Distinctions between Social Justice Warriors/Workers, Squaring Up Meritocracy and Privilege Myths and many such seminal pieces for workplace safety and equity.

Deepak is India’s first openly gay television co-host. He is a published columnist in national newspapers and magazines and writes about issues related to sex, mental health, relationships, and emotional disturbances. He has appeared on various national and international news channels, talk shows and debates, radio and newspapers, discussing emotional health and sexuality issues. Deepak is a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Practitioners (OAMHP) and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).

Luc Lincoln Grey
Associate Curator of Partnerships and Knowledge Exchange

Luc Lincoln Grey is passionate about lifetime learning and human development.

He is the Associate Curator of Partnerships and Knowledge Exchange.

He chooses to engage himself in several community projects. One of those is focused on access to care and services in mental health for gender and sexually diverse youth during the COVID-19 Pandemic as the S.M.A.S.H COVID Project Coordinator. He was recently the Outreach Coordinator and Project Assistant on the 2SLGBTQI+ Campaign on Commercial Tobacco Use and It’s Culture at the Ontario Tobacco Research Unit, Dalla Lana School of Public Health. His role involved supporting the project and community needs addressing root causes and intersectionality of smoking within gender and sexually diverse populations in Thunder Bay, Toronto, and Montreal.

Luc has experience in youth and young adult program development, fostering partnerships, planning, and facilitating group workshops, and capacity building. He recently completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development, and previously an Honours Diploma in Social Service Work both from Humber College.

Luc identifies as a pansexual cisgender 29-year-old male settler living in Toronto. A significant impact during the COVID-19 pandemic has reminded Luc of the significance of true friendships, partnership, and the importance of community building, participatory action research and knowledge transferring.

Mayuri Sinha
Marketing and Strategy Consultant, Lotus Mindfulness Centre

With experience ranging from photography to business development and marketing, Mayuri brings to the table her creativity in an otherwise left brain driven space. She has helped many small and medium business attain their goals of marketing and development.

Holding a degree in dentistry she is someone who has truly transformed her life through travels, always filled with stories. Her varied experiences have made her adept at understanding human minds intuitively and it is this skill set that makes her the perfect fit as our marketing and strategy consultant.

Zachary Schraeder
Executive Board Member, Toronto Mindfulness Centre

Zac is a Student Advisor and life skills educator at Toronto Film School where he helps develop and improve school, community, and mental health resources for students – particularly those in the Queer, First Generation, and Immigrant communities. He also helps them individually to visualize their goals, create plans for success, and develop vital professional and self-care skills.

He also sits on the Board of Directors for Adler Graduate Professional School in Toronto where he assists with the development of policies and procedures for the school’s programs in psychology and coaching. In his free time, he volunteers with the Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture where he helps refugees and victims of torture transition into life in Toronto. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Ottawa, and has completed programs in Student Affairs and Services from Seneca College, and Foundational Coaching from the Adler School of Professional Coaching in Toronto.
